Music shapes how every function feels. The same sangeet can feel like a family gathering or a full-blown party depending on who is on stage. With so many options — DJ, live band, singers, arkestra — it helps to match the music to the mood of each function instead of booking one act for everything.
Haldi and mehendi: light and familiar
These functions are relaxed and close to family. Traditional folk songs, a dholak and a small speaker setup often work better than a loud sound system. Many families invite ladies and gents singers who know the traditional haldi and banna-banni songs, so everyone can join in.
Sangeet: the big night
Sangeet is where the energy peaks. A good DJ reads the crowd and moves smoothly between Bollywood hits, Punjabi tracks and family favourites. If you have performances planned, share the song list and running order at least a week ahead.
